Donna Reed and James Stewart, It's a Wonderful Life

Donna Reed and James Stewart Dancing the Charleston in It’s a Wonderful Life

The beautiful and talented Donna Reed was only 25 when she filmed It’s a Wonderful Life. Twenty-Five! It was her first leading-lady role and here she was, being thrown into a role opposite the legendary James Stewart in a film directed by the legendary Frank Capra.

And all she did was simply give one of cinema’s most memorable characters and performances. She’s part of movie history in what is considered one of the best (and most-loved) movies ever made.

About filming the iconic film, Donna Reed said, “I did things I had never done before – danced the Charleston a little, sang a little, fell over backward in a swimming pool… played light comedy as well as drama, aged from 18 to 40 years – and (Capra) made it all look so simple and easy on-screen.”

As did you, lovely Donna!

You can buy It’s a Wonderful Life on dvd (Amazon link) or watch on Prime Video. It’s funny, even though I’ve owned the movie on dvd for many, many years, I still watch it every single time it’s shown on television. I am simply wildly in love with this movie and with everything about it.
